Our team is made of talented and passionate developers who strive for excellence and are brave enough to make bold decisions on a daily basis. Why join us ?

The studio

  • Independent video game developer located in the heart of Bordeaux, founded in 2012 by industry veterans Sebastien Vidal and Nicolas Cannasse.
  • Our first game Evoland was released in 2013, the critically acclaimed sequel Evoland 2: A slight case of Spacetime continuum disorder followed soon after in 2015.
  • Popular Viking RTS Northgard entered early access in 2017 with its full release following in March 2018 has reached 2.5 million sales so far.
  • Cooperative roguelite action game Darksburg, launched in September 2020.
  • In 2023, after one year and a hald of early access periods, we have released the open world RPG Wartales and Dune: Spice Wars, the 4X game set in the DUNE universe.

We hire people who are ready to be challenged every day. People who will make Shiro Games a better studio thanks to their talent, friendliness, openness and diversity. We never crunch, but we ask everyone to be involved in all aspects of the studio and chime in in any conversation. We work fast, we build our own tools and technologies and we create games we love and can be proud of.

Shiro Unlimited benefits from the experience and skills Shiro has developed over the last 10 years, with the objective of carefully curating and publishing titles that Shiro themselves could have made and the clear goal of preserving the vision of their developers, whilst helping smaller teams achieve the best possible version of their projects. 

Equality Index 2025

Under the law for the freedom to choose one’s professional future, enacted on September 5, 2018, the video game development studio, Shiro Games, has published the results of its gender equality index.

For the year 2025, the studio has achieved a score of 81/100 on the Gender Equality Index.

Gender pay gap: score of 34/40
==> Objective: Over the next five years, the goal is to improve this score to reach 36/40. To achieve this objective, Shiro Games commits to:

  • Paying particular attention and actions to the recruitment of women at senior levels
  • Continuing to ensure equal pay between women and men for the same work or work of equal value throughout their career within the company

Gap in individual salary increases: maximum score of 35/35
This score reflects concerted and concrete initiatives to promote a culture of equality and mutual respect.

Percentage of employees receiving a pay increase in the year following their return from maternity leave: Not calculable

Top ten highest salaries: score of 0/10
==> Objective: To have two women among the ten highest salaries by 2030.

Within this framework and in line with the objectives set out above, the Gender Equality Index is expected to reach a score of 89 out of 100 by 2030.
In accordance with the decree of February 25, 2022, these objectives were defined with the Social and Economic Committee (CSE) on February 26, 2026.
